Hi everyone! This Saturday, June 2nd, is my birthday. 25 feels GREAT!
What’s that? What do I want for my birthday? Well, I don’t really want for anything aside from a scalp massage nightly and for my kids to not argue.
Wait a minute! There is something I would really like for my birthday!
What would you say if I told you that you could give me a really special birthday gift AND you’d be feeding the hungry at the very same time?
What if I told you that this gift would teach your kids about community service, would provide a fun activity for play dates and/or you and your friends and would only take a couple hours of your time?
I am helping to fill a summer calendar for the MESH program I told you about a few weeks ago. Meals are needed nightly for a group of about 30 people.
“30 people? Are you crazy”, you ask me?
Well, if 2-3 families help, it’s pretty doable, especially if you ask me for help with recipes that can be made in bulk.
Other ways to help:
If you can’t do it, forward this to a friend who might be able to do it
Ask your favorite restaurant to donate one night
You can order in food for a night to feed them
You can just send in CASH!
Here’s where you can register to donate the meal. If you are not local, you can just send a donation if you’d like to keep the program going through the summer.
Please help and happy birthday to me! You all rock!

Hi Alma,
Happy Birthday!
This is a great initiative you are starting here. If people really can’t cope with cooking, I’d just like to reminder you that The Salvation Army, Toni’s Kitchen will accept food as they provide meals to about 50 people a day through the week. So clear out your pantries – have a spring clean!
Thanks,
Lisa
Great suggestion, Lisa!
