Homemade Pita Chips-EASY!!!!

Hi everyone,

Please don’t waste food! If you buy 3 bags of fresh and delicious pita bread and they get old and hard because the kids in your house say they love pita but then don’t eat it and you get really annoyed because you work so damn hard to keep the inventory moving and nobody seems to really appreciate your efforts at keeping this household running and why did I have so many kids anyway when I could have just been cooking for myself all these years and this pandemic is making me nuts with all these kids home and I even went to a couples only Club Med once and it was so awesome and I will never be able to go again because of this pandemic and I am no longer just a couple but have so many kids who waste all my food and it pisses me off and they all take my cooking for granted and do they have any friekin’ idea how great they have it with all those people out there who give their kids junk food and order in and they are getting gourmet stuff almost every night and they don’t even want it??????????

Anyhoo, just make pita chips if your pitas are getting old and hard. They’re good!

Baked Spiced Pita Chips:
6 large pitas

2 Tbs olive oil

2 Tbs za’atar spice

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp salt, more to taste

Steps:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.Cut each pita into 8 triangles.
Place the pita slices in a large bowl with the olive oil, za’atar, garlic powder and salt.
Using a large spoon, stir the pita with the mixture until the pita pieces are coated.

On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, lay the pita slices in a single layer and place in the middle rack of the oven.

Bake for approximately 12 minutes or until the pita are golden brown. If the pita are thick and still soft, flip and bake a few more minutes but be careful not to let them burn.

Let chips cool and store in an airtight container.
