Frozen Hazelnut Spread Pie A.K.A. “Break Up Pie”

Hi everyone! Ever feel so lousy that you just want to drown your sorrows in a pint of ice cream? Well then, this pie is for you. You may cause a break up JUST so you can eat it!

Frozen Hazelnut Spread Pie (a.k.a. “Break-up Pie”):

Ingredients:

Crust:
25  chocolate sandwich type cookies or peanut butter sandwich cookies
5 TBS butter, melted
In a food processor, combine butter and cookies and puree until there is a crumby mixture. Press the mixture into a freezer proof pie plate

Filling: (this is where it gets GOOD!)

1 1/4 cups hazelnut  spread-can get at most supermarkets now
1 Tub healthier non-dairy whipped topping  (can get at A&P; and Whole Foods)
1 8 oz. package firm cream cheese
chocolate shavings-optional for topping, made by taking a dark chocolate candy bar and peeling it with a carrot peeler on top

Steps:

1)In a mixer with a paddle, whip together the cream cheese, hazelnut Spread and non-dairy whipped topping until fully combined.

2)Spread into the crumb filled pie plate and make it nice and flat on top.

3)Shave chocolate on top if using it. Place in freezer for at least 4 hours and serve cold. Deeeeeeelicious!

  1. 😥 This looks like a wonderful recipe, but i and many others will never know. Why, oh why, is there not an alternative way to mix stuff instead of a either a food processor or a mixer with a paddle? Man! It’s frustrating as all get out!
