Celebrity Kid Chef #4 and Does Your Kid Want To Cook On Channel 34?

Hello everyone! Welcome to January Kids’ Cooking month on Take Back the Kitchen. Remember, there will be a poll at the end of January to decide which 5 contestants will make their recipe on Channel 34. Keep sending them in to alma@takebackthekitchen.com!

This contest is really moving forward and If cuteness was a factor, all these kids would be winners so far. Meet Kate:

Kate is a first grader at Oakview School in Bloomfield. She enjoys reading books and doing gymnastics. When she isn’t doing those things she loves to get her “Work Station” (a small collapsable stool) and cook in the kitchen with her mom or dad.
Here is her recipe for the perfect pizza:

Kate’s Perfect Pizza:
1 crust (pre-made) She likes the mini Mama Mary’s Thin & Crispy crusts because it has no eggs since her brother is allergic.
homemade red sauce (leftover from spaghetti and meatballs from last night’s dinner)
1 package shredded mozzerella cheese
1 jar grated peccorino romano cheese
1 can sliced mushrooms
1 can sliced black olives
1 package sliced turkey pepperoni
dried oregano
dried basil

How to make the perfect pizza:
Have your mom or dad heat the oven to 350 degrees.

First we put the crust on a baking pan. We spoon a little red sauce on the crust and move it all around. Next comes the cheese. Start with the mozzerella and cover the sauce. Then sprinkle some grated cheese on the mozzerella.
Now comes the fun part. Take the mushrooms, olives and pepperoni and make a design or a face on top of the cheese. Last, sprinkle some dried oregano and basil on the top of it all.

Have mom or dad move the baking pan to the oven for about 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Cut each mini pizza into 4 slices and ENJOY!

Thanks,
Kate and Jamie Menake
