Celebrity Chef #4 and Her Famous and EASY Shortbread

Hi everyone! Please meet our Celebrity Home Chef #4, Christine Sapienza, who is sharing her great-grandmother’s family favorite shortbread recipe with us. I have had this and it is dreamy. It also freezes very well (and can be dipped in chocolate!).

The lady with the toaster is not Christine, but a model wearing Chistine’s dress that she designed. A designer AND a shortbread maker? Gifted!

P.S. Remember to send in your recipe and a photo if you would like to be in the next post as a celebrity home chef!

Christine’s Shortbread:

Ingredients:
1 lb unsalted butter
1 cup white sugar
5 cups all purpose flour

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Cream butter and sugar together with mixer
add flour (one cup at a time)
mix with a wooden spoon
When it gets difficult to mix, switch to using your hands and blend/knead thoroughly.
Press into a jelly roll pan or cookie seet with at least one inch sides.
Prick dough all the way through to pan
Bake for 10 minutes.
Reduce heat to 300 and continue to bake 40 minutes
Turn off oven and wait 2 more minutes.
Cut into finger length bars and let bars cool in pan
