Hi everyone! Well, this is a first in our January series of Celebrity Home Chefs. Today we have a 5th grader, Charlotte, who is going to wow us with her 5+Spice Chicken.
Few things make me happier than to see the proud smile of a young chef after completing a confidence building meal. Kudos to this family for showing their daughter the importance of a home cooked meal. Enjoy!
Charlotte’s Fun 5+ Spice Chicken
1 whole chicken
2-3 sweet potatoes
Olive oil
Chinese 5 spice (can get at most supermarkets and all Asian supermarkets)
Cinnamon
Cloves
Coriander
Set oven to 400 degrees. Put 1 whole chicken in a large roasting pan. Drizzle olive oil on chicken then rub it around. Cut sweet potatoes and put them in roasting pan around the chicken. Now its spice time! Sprinkle salt, pepper, 5 spice, cinnamon, cloves(if you want to have an extra punch of spice), coriander. Then cook for 50 minutes and enjoy!
