Hi everyone and please click on the title of this post to read more. Well, I am coming off a huge family get-together and feast at my house that was made possible by the fact that I have the suburban digs while most of the family lives in a NYC apartment that cannot accommodate the ten thousand family members. It is rare that the entire family with all the cousins come in but when it does happen, it is truly a delight (if there are no fights, like last night!).
Other than the fact that we enjoyed each others company, the food was quite tasty. I made a double batch of my sister Peggy’s award winning corn pudding (she really did win a contest with this dish) and it went like, like, well, like delicious corn pudding! I make this easy and delicious dish all year round, but always for the holidays because it has become a tradition.
Who doesn’t love to anticipate the tasty treats of family get-togethers and to be surprised by some new dishes (and new boyfriends-he was really nice). I feel good about being able to host my family in the country (that’s what they think of the suburbs) and to provide a great time and a great meal (see them all in the video below reveling in the holiday season!). They even helped clean up which made it extra special!
I hope you’re having a great holiday and that you like this recipe as much as we do :
corn pudding:
1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen, thawed corn
2 eggs
3 TBS flour
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 cup milk
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 TBS sugar
3 TBS butter
3 oz. grated cheese
chopped jalapeno pepper (optional)
Cream butter, eggs and flour into a paste and whip in other ingredients , one at a time. Put in an 8″X8″ pan in a larger pan filled 1/3 full with water. Put in preheated 350 degree oven for 50-55 minutes or until fork comes out clean.

What a great time you must have had with the entire clan! It looks like so much LOVE floating around the Schneider/Saltzman household.
Now, girlfriend, surely, in that huge gathering there was ONE unattached mid-40’s man? You holdin’ out on me? ha ha
Seriously, sincere congrats on your one year birthday of TBK, and all of your other ventures – especially the 4 young ones!
Best,
Alisa
