Hi everyone! I went to my Elementary School reunion last night in Manhattan, thanks to my old pal Victor who organized the event. He lives in L.A.and is an actor (catch him on Victorius on Nickelodean tomorrow night, March 24th at 8PM!).
Victor picked an incredible restaurant for us to meet in Hell’s Kitchen called Southern Hospitality, on 45th and ninth.
Thank goodness I don’t live near this restaurant because I would be tempted to eat their delicious fried food every night, like the crawfish Jalapeno hush puppies I indulged in as an appetizer. So good!!!!
I did have a tasty salad as my entree so I don’t feel like my body was completely ransacked by the puppies.
Are you tempted by delicious restaurant food? Do you feel like your own food can’t compete?
Well, try this easy to assemble salad and you just may stay home the next time you want a great meal.
Thanks for the reunion, P.S. 59-ers and thank you, Victor, for organizing!!
Strawberry Almond Salad:
6 cups leafy green lettuce (preferably organic)
1 cup sliced strawberries (preferably organic)
2 TBS nuts-I like pecans
2 TBS grated or diced chunks of a cheese of your choice, I like the robust Parrano
Toss together and add dressing of your choice. I always opt for my Maple Soy Dessing:
Serves 4 as a side salad
Maple Soy dressing:
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup canola oil
3 TBS soy sauce
1/8 cup rice vinegar
1/2 tsp sesame oil
Whisk all ingredients together until fully combined and refrigerate. That’s it!
