I can assure you that any cooking personality type can prepare this flavorful dish I whipped up the other day. Blood oranges are pretty darn gorgeous. If you don’t have these lovely items, feel free to use every day oranges. Enjoy!
Mediterranean Blood Orange Salad with Almonds:
6 blood oranges
1/8 tsp cumin
1/8 tsp ground coriander
1/8 tsp ground black pepper
1/8 tsp salt
1/4 cup sliced almonds, toasted
On a cutting board with a pairing knife, slice the orange into i/2 inch slices and cut the peel off of each of the slices along with the white pith.
Slice each round of orange into 5-6 chunks and place in a medium sized bowl.
Sprinkle in the spices and gently stir to combine.
Refrigerate and let the orange absorb the spices for at least an hour if possible.
When ready to serve, toast up the almonds, add on top and serve.
